Our mission is to sustain ourselves, our local farmers, our communities, and our world by providing local and organically-grown products whenever they are available. We are owned, run, and governed by a membership that involves all of our producers and buyers.
At present this website hosts a virtual farmers' market for the Lehigh Valley (Pennsylvania), where our members can buy and sell locally-grown food. As not all foods are available locally, we also offer a wide-range of bulk foods, and staple foods and household goods. Shop at our store-front or utilize drop-off sites throughout the Lehigh Valley. Find out more here.
There are currently eleven members on the Board of Directors of the Lehigh Valley Food Cooperative.

Our Vision:
We will strive to be a community-gathering place that offers educational information on using healthy foods, creating healthy environments, and employing sustainable living practices in the daily lives of our customers and the community at large. Our storefront is pedestrian, bike, public transportation, and car friendly with free off-street parking available for all types of vehicles!
We will strive to encourage the local production of fresh foods through supporting the local chapter of Buy Fresh Buy Local. We will also support local food production and our local economies by working with local farmers. Education on seasonal eating and food preservation will be part of our curriculum. We are presently beginning to organize local backyard gardening clusters that can exchange what they grow with one another. Long term, we will support Farm preservation/Farm Incubator projects by creating a fund to have a Cooperative Farm Equipment Bank to work in conjunction with a farm incubator.
Another goal for the co-op will be to participate in the WIC and Food Stamp programs, and Senior Citizen programs, thereby offering the underserved access to healthy fresh foods and educational services. Obesity is an issue for all of our population and increasingly so for our children. We will offer nutritional and education guidance through our outreach programs to target parents and children at risk for obesity and diabetes in the Lehigh Valley's diverse population.
The Lehigh Valley Food Co-op will serve as an example to area businesses of the value of Green Business. We will be eco-friendly, reusing, renewing, and recycling products whenever possible. In the long term, we will find ways to use renewable energy to power our operations. We will employ sustainable, environmentally sensitive methods in all areas of our operations and continue to evaluate and update those methods throughout the lifecycle of our business.
