Producers may only sell products they themselves have grown or processed. We do, however, encourage cooperation between farmers; some farmers deliver products for other farmers.
No GMO foods or products may be sold through the Co-op.
No meat, poultry or egg products from Confined Animal Feeding Operations may be sold through the Co-op. Nor may they be used for
ingredients in processed foods.
Animals may not be treated with bovine growth hormone nor may routine antibiotics be used in feeds.
PA ingredients are encouraged for processed foods.
Meats (Beef, Pork, Lamb, Goat) and poultry that are for resale or for commercial use must be USDA
inspected for distribution and must have a USDA inspection stamp on the packaging.

Poultry farmers with less than 1000 birds can operate under the exemption P.L. 90-492. PA ag questions
can be made to Cress Barrett 610-489-1003. Please contact USDA to let them know what you are
doing get their okay for this exemption – 215-597-4219 and any other USDA regulation questions.
Refrigerated items, dairy and eggs must be received in equipment which will have air maintained at an
temperature of no more than 41 degrees F and not less than 33 degrees F.
We will need a copy of your farm liability insurance. If you do any processing, we need the copy of the
certification of the licensed kitchen. If processing meats or dairy products copy of USDA inspected
kitchen certification needed for our files.
If your farm is certified organic, we need proof of your certification for our records.
Dairy regulations - Yogurt must be pasturized to be distributed off the farm. Raw Milk Cheese needs tobe aged at least 60 days. For producer to distribute Raw fluid milk, there must be a auto-filler, capperand proper labeling on the container.
Special arrangements can be made with a Community Supported Agriculture operation (CSA) to market
its shares through the Co-op and utilize distribution drop-off sites.
Beef, Pork, Lamb and Goat can be purchased from the Farmer directly with arrangement made to have
meat picked up at a certified butcher shop.
Payments:
Producers give Co-op 10% of sales as payment for services; Members also give 10% of purchases as
payment for use of Co-op services.
